This is not a love song

‘Happy to have, not to have not’

My peregrination through the 80’s music is quite random and chaotic; most of the time I bump into clips on websites, or songs (in movies, clubs…), and then I look up for more info on the artist and musical context.

In the current case, I heard the song  more than one year ago while in the cinema for Waltz with Bachir. Excerpt here.

In the book ‘Remember the Eighties’, a reference to Public Image Ltd reminded of this song, and I finally watched the clip. And was amazed, as the singer is actually not a woman (I was convinced it was), and furthermore the singer is no less than John Lydon (more famous as Johnny Rotten).

Long is the path to knowledge, young padawan.
